This week we were fortunate enough to have a bit of a break, in that, our break was a midterm exam and grant proposal writing review. Most individuals would not consider this a break, however, I think our entire class is in agreeance that this opportunity to process and apply our learning was rather enjoyable. Our midterm exam was structured in a way that both facilitated our learning whilst allowing us to respond to questions that most intrigued us. In this capacity, we were all able to choose the questions in which we felt most knowledgeable about and construct a well worded response. There were two questions on our exam that everyone had to answer in which we were instructed to write a single output and outcome objective based on a given scenario.
We had practiced this skill several times in class and it seemed fairly reasonable on the exam, however, when reviewing our exams the following class period, many of us had forgotten a crucial piece of the output objective statement. Many of us had forgotten to include the number of individuals receiving the service/program. Our professor thought that we would benefit from another review and a deeper understanding of grant proposal writing, including both output and outcome objective writing. Quite honestly, I think we were all anticipating the week to come because it is our Spring Break, but the review definitely was beneficial for many of the students in our class.
